GENERAL FAQS

Do you arrange delivery?

Definitely! We can arrange local deliveries within the Perth metro area, as well as interstate. For small to medium jobs, we typically use external one-person contractors with a trailer. For larger, more awkward items we use furniture removalists with a 2 or 3 person team (trained to handle your precious purchase like it’s their own).

Interstate items can be delivered to the door or to the nearest depot for collection.

Pricing can vary depending on the requirements for each job. For larger items that cannot be easily carried, or where large quantities are required, we palletise the items so they can be delivered using a larger truck. You may need a forklift or pallet jack at your end for unloading.

Once you know what items you need and we have address details and specifications (narrow access path, stairs, steps, lifts, parking etc.), we can provide you with a quote for delivery and estimated time frame.

We strongly recommend having your item delivered by the professionals, especially if they are bulky and awkward. If you would like to collect, please let us know and allow time for loading and packing and we will require you to check and sign off on all items prior to leaving the store.

Can I collect my order in person?

Of course, we love a good ceremonial handover of our beautiful statement pieces! It’s a great idea to discuss your collection vehicle with us in advance so we can assist with any requirements needed to secure items for a safe journey to your location. Just make sure you check over the item/s as we will require a signature from you before you leave.

Are all the items available and in stock?

One thing WG customers always rave about is the large range of products, colours and finishing options we offer. So while our aim is to have most outdoor furniture pots and planters in stock (we have additional warehouses to help make this happen), it unfortunately isn’t quite possible to have everything available and in stock around the clock – so there’s a chance we may need to order the item for you.

If you are working on a project and have time up your sleeve, please allow 12-16 weeks for the item to be available. Alternatively, feel free to contact us so we can advise availability (there’s always plenty items in stock) or suggest other options.

Can I purchase online?

Here at WG we know our products outside in, from colours, materials and kilning techniques, to size, scale and transport requirements (most items are bulky and awkward to transport).

That’s why we always encourage you to come instore and discuss your outdoor furniture pot, planter or fountain requirements with our team. That way you can get a good idea of what you’re buying and how exactly it will fit in your project, so you make the right decision.

Do you offer returns and exchanges?
If you change your mind, return the item within 7 days in the same packaging and condition as you purchased it and we will issue you with a credit note for the amount. If the item is returned without the packaging it came with, or if it was a special-order item, a restocking fee will apply. There are no returns or refunds for discounted or sale items, unless faulty.

Do you have a showroom where we can see your products?

Of course, we have a 1,000 square metre showroom in Drake Street, Osborne Park with all our outdoor furniture, pots planters and fountains on display. It’s the perfect place to not only see and touch our vast range up close, but also to pick the brains of our team of outdoor life experts. We know our products outside in and can help you find the perfect statement piece for your project.

We’re open 9am to 5pm Monday through to Friday, Saturday 9am – 4pm and closed Sundays and Public Holidays.

Do you have sales?

At WG Outdoor Life, we have a strict everyday low pricing policy that ensures we bring you the best products at the best prices (because let’s be honest, sales are really just admitting your normal prices are inflated!).

It means you won’t have to join the mad rush of a Boxing Day or EOFY sale – you can get the product you want, when you want, at a price you’d normally have to queue for. By importing our pieces directly in large quantities (40-foot containers), we remove the middleman and all the additional costs that come with it. So, you’re essentially getting factory direct prices.

That said, we often have seconds and sample items from our range of pots, outdoor furniture and accessories available at even lower ‘sale’ prices. Check them out in store, on our website Clearance Page

Can I come in and collect the same day?

For some items you just need to give us 24 hours’ notice and full payment so we can have your items ready and reduce any wait time for you. It’s a good idea to check the items will fit in your vehicle and bring ties and blankets to safely secure your items so that they’re not damaged in transit.

Our warehouse is located just behind our showroom and is open for pick-ups on:

  • Monday 10am – 1pm
  • Tuesday 10am – 1pm
  • Wednesday 10am – 1pm
  • Thursday 10am – 1pm
  • Friday 10am – 1pm
  • Saturday By Appointment
  • Sundays and Public Holidays – Closed

Do you offer trade discounts?

For large commercial inquiries, please email team@wgoutdoorlife.com.au with your specific requirements so we can advise availability and our best pricing for bulk orders.

What product warranty do you provide?

At WG, we stand for style and quality, which is why all our products are backed by a one-year warranty. Of course, the warranty period is based on the expectation that goods are to be used as intended (reasonable wear and tear is not covered).

WG Outdoor Life provides warranty for its products that have been purchased in Australia. The benefits provided are in addition to other rights and remedies of a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, and any other laws in relation to the products to which this relates. The warranty period commences from the date of sale. WG Outdoor Life will guarantee GRC products for up to 12 months, by way of refund or replacement, for manufacturing defects when used as intended. Where the product is not used as intended, or the product is modified by plugging, cutting or drilling and not carried out by WG Outdoor Life, or without the written endorsement of WG Outdoor Life, the warranty will be void. WG Outdoor Life warrants every product purchased to be structurally sound, in good condition and free of defects. Should any structural defect occur under normal usage become apparent within 12 months. This Warranty covers providing you with a replacement or repair of any product that has a manufacturing or material defect that is not the result of normal wear and tear, or a natural characteristic of the material used. Notification in writing is required within 7 days after discovering the defect, prior to any repairs or alterations. Detailed description required including pictures and proof of purchase. Please note will not be liable for costs associated with reinstallation including labour and removal costs.

CONCRETE PRODUCT FAQS

What are your ‘Concrete’ products actually made of?

Our Litestone and Pietro ranges are made from Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC).

What is GRC?

GRC is a blend of long strand fibreglass and concrete applied using a special technique that chops the fibreglass and adds the cement mix at the same time to ensure maximum strength and longevity.

Our GRC doesn’t reinforce the layers using steel which adds additional weight and can rust and expand over time, leading to cracking. Some other concrete products use natural fibres (like jute), which hold moisture and will rot over time.

The secret is using alkali resistant fibreglass and high-quality cement, allowing us to create thinner walls that make each piece much lighter and easier to move without losing any strength. Reactive oxides, water and solvent based paints are used to colour each piece, providing a durable exterior finish. The exposed surfaces are coated with a sealant that protects the concrete material and creates a water repellent layer that limits staining and scratching on the surface layer. Sealants should be applied on surfaces that get a lot of use, such as tabletops and bench seats.

Pietro is a premium grade of GRC and is meticulously hand finished to remove cast lines with consistent colour and finish. Litestone is a more cost-effective product, with natural imperfections and chalky matte finish. You’ll notice slight irregularities like subtle variations in colour, texture and porosity, gentle mottling, curing variance or hairline cracks that appear over time. These make each piece unique without affecting its structural integrity.

  • Lightweight, yet strong
  • Pre-sealed internal walls
  • Huge range of styles and colours

How do I look after my Litestone concrete furniture?

Litestone GRC isn’t needy – it just needs a little love and it’ll pay you back with years of fabulous entertaining!

PLANTER FAQS

How do I prevent messy runoff from my planters?

One of the biggest bugbears of hand watering (besides a sore arm) is the messy runoff that ruins your paving and other outdoor surfaces. We often get asked about saucers; however, they’re not really solving the problem. When saucers overflow there’s still staining that occurs, not to mention the stagnant water that attracts mozzies!

If you’d like to avoid this, we recommend using the Mona Self Watering Tank system. Depending on how much rain your plant will receive (pots must have a hole in this scenario), this system will reduce the water draining from the bottom of the pot and may even prevent it entirely.

To find out more on how you can protect your outdoor surfaces from messy runoff, see our guide to Mona Self Watering Tanks.

Are there any tricks to planting in your pots?

Mixing and matching designer urns, bowls, boxes and troughs is the fun bit – but if you want your plants to thrive in them, you need to perfect your potting plan.

Whether you’re planting inside or out, undercover or with full exposure to the weather, we have some essential planting tips in our WG Guide to Pot Planting Perfection.

The Key to Planting Success – Pot Feet

or optimal drainage and ventilation, elevate your pots with evenly spaced pot feet (for large pots and rectangular troughs, support both the middle and outer edges). Letting pots wallow in trays, saucers or artificial grass is a pot faux pas, as it can allow water to be drawn through the pot’s exterior and lead to premature deterioration. Pot feet can be purchased from the store. To find out more, click here.

Whats so special about Serralunga Products?

We absolutely love this Italian company at WG. Serralunga pushes the boundaries to create ground-breaking products, made from Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), combined with leading technology and stunning eye-catching aesthetics from prominent architects and designers from around the world. From sculptural planters to geometric tables, everything is designed to be not only beautiful but highly functional as well – they really have a supreme mastery of the cutting-edge rotational moulding processes.

The best bit is that these high-quality weather-resistant and lightweight designs enable a seamless progression from indoor to outdoor spaces. Planters come without drainage holes, so you can easily use them inside without leaking water. Holes are easily drilled if required.

Here’s why you’ll love them:

  • Super lightweight
  • UV Stabilised
  • High quality Matte finish – not shiny like injected moulded plastic
  • Shatter and chip proof
  • Easy to clean
  • Commercial grade
  • Available to order in a range of colours

Serralunga planters and furniture pieces are made of 100% Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) without addition of other chemical additives. This material is:

  • 100% recyclable
  • Non-toxic
  • Non-soluble in water
  • Without any risk of pollution for the environment
  • UV ray resistant
  • Shockproof and resistant to temperatures from minus 40°C to plus 80°C

Why do you strongly promote Earthenware products?

Life’s too short for a cookie cutter outdoor life! That’s why we love Earthenware’s AtlantisOldstone and Glazed Planters. They’re not easily copied, with each piece flaunting a unique character of its own, constructed from natural materials using contemporary techniques while bringing the aesthetics of ancient civilisations to your garden.

What’s more, unlike the soft terracotta base popular in the ancient originals, our artisans use earthenware clay fired at high temperatures. This makes the products suitable for both hot and cold climates when used as planters, water features or standalone garden features.

Here’s why you’ll love them:

  • Unique texture and finish, no two planters are the same
  • High fired with thick walls for versatility
  • Can be converted into water features
  • Huge range of shapes and sizes to suit your area

Tallow Lightweight Fibreglass Pots: The Stylists Choice

Handcrafted with premium quality materials and finished to perfection in an array of colours, shapes and sizes, Tallow’s vogue versatility invites you to mix and match your own designer look by injecting bursts of colour inside and out.

Tallow’s superior strength-to-weight ratio makes it the designer’s choice. Lovingly handcrafted using commercial marine-grade fibreglass (a tough composite material fusing polyester resin combined with glass fibres), whether installing in a street level café or a 40th floor apartment, Tallow planters are a styler’s dream.

The difference is in the detail. Each Tallow planter is meticulously hand-finished with durable UV resistant heavy duty automotive paint to preserve its silky good looks for years to come.  Available in Raven Black, White Cotton, Classic Grey, Walnut Brown and Hunter Green, Tallow planters look fresh and on trend in any space.

Built for Australian conditions

You can’t fake what we make. Unlike cheap fibreglass imitations with thin walls and inferior external finishes, Tallow planters won’t bow and deteriorate over time. Enjoy peace of mind knowing they’re designed to provide unrivaled performance in all conditions.

Designer looks made easy

At WG, we’ve done all the hard work by curating the Tallow range of planters in a large range of shapes and sizes. Thanks to a minimalist aesthetic they look good on their own or grouped together in clusters. Mix and match to find the perfect look, and add to your collection later as you like. Tallow planters are light enough to be picked up single handed, so you can position and move them around until your heart’s content.

Important Information

  • Avoid lifting or moving large pieces when planted as this will damage them. Don’t lift by the rim. Empty before transporting.
  • For ultimate longevity use a lightweight potting mix – add a lightweight medium like Perlite to lighten the load and stress on the planter. Regular garden soil mix holds more water and can add excessive force to walls of the planter. Invasive plant roots can also do the same.
  • Avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals and abrasive brushes and high pressure hoses.
  • Use evenly spaced pot feet for good drainage, ensuring large planters are well supported underneath and stable. Movement and twisting can cause damage to your planters.

WATER FEATURE + POND FAQS

How do I keep my water feature clean?

A bit of TLC will see your water feature love you back, for life! We recommend specialist products for ponds (not swimming pools) to help maintain good water quality. Don’t use chlorine or bleach in the water as this may discolour your feature and damage the seals on the pump (this isn’t covered in the warranty). Remove any leaf debris and make sure the pump doesn’t run dry and top it up when the water level gets low.

If you’re looking for a large pond setup with fish and plants, we highly recommend you talk to one of our pond specialists about your specific requirements to ensure you get the right products for the job. For more tips on how to look after your water feature click here to see our Water Feature Care Guide.

How do you determine the best type of filters and pumps for a pond?

You’re probably overwhelmed by all the different equipment on display – but as long as you ask the right questions, it’s actually pretty easy for us to help you find the right gear.

Size (length, width and depth), amount of direct sunlight, debris that the pond collects, the amount and type of fish and plants – these are all the factors you’ll need to consider. So have a chat with one of our friendly pond specialists in store and we’ll make sure you nail your pond setup.
